ENDLESS QUESTIONS

I can’t stop asking, ‘Why did they take that flight?’

Why didn’t they live to see the next day’s light?

Why did they have to lose their life’s final fight?

And why didn’t they escape the Grim reaper’s bite?

But then, how on earth would they have known?

How come ‘he’ didn’t feel a chill in his bones?

How come ‘she’ didn’t hear her heart groan?

Was there no premonition? Was there no warning tone?

These questions could continue. They are endless.

Some would in fact call them senseless and baseless.

Well, I guess it’s better I know and query less

Lest I annoy the Creator by my rashness and carelessness.

However, I see a tinge of hope and joy in the story.

We mourn here but in their deaths, they have cause to glory

As they get freedom, even though the manner was gory.

At last, they are free – Free from this world of pain and worry.
