Diva songstress Mary J. Blige was at her marketing best this past Saturday while the rest of the world pondered the goings-on of Chelsea Clinton's wedding. The now entrepreneur extraordinaire appeared on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) to sell her latest fragrance, "My Life."

Did she outdo herself? Heck yea! La diva, who sat down to introduce her eau de parfum over the HSN airwaves at 10:00 a.m., tweeted to fans that she had sold 50,000 bottles, which were accompanied by a gold clutch, just after an hour and a half.

Blige tweeted:

 

I know it's early but I'm on hsn at 10am through the rest of the day so I'm getting ready 4 that. It's gonna be a long day.

 

For my fam that's late, I launched my fragrance on hsn this morning, it's called My Life and I'll be on all day!

The fragrance, which is named after her chart topper "My Life," was created in partnership with the beauty products line Carol's Daughter.

Since Blige is known for having a big heart, for every bottle that was sold, a dollar from each sale would be donated by HSN to support Blige's charitable organization, Foundation for the Advancement for Women Now Inc. (FFAWN), which empowers women in their personal and professional lives to reach their full potential.

 

Of the $2.3 million in sales Blige made, $50,000 went toward FFAWN.
