Minx Nails

Something about Minx nails has caught my eye. I mean really, how could you pass up having any design you could think up right there on your nails? Well, there's one thing that has held me back from getting the long-lasting, cool manicures -- I'm a nurse by day. But just when I gave up hope on having a manicure last more than 48 hours, along came OPI Axxium Gel Lacquer system. It definitely will work better for my lifestyle than Minx. Not sure which version is right for you? Check out the pros and cons of both systems!

The best things about Minx nails is that they are waterproof and funky cool different patterns are available. The downsides are that no matter how good the Minx professional is, the edges will never be perfect. If you are very active, the chances of the adhesive lifting off is very high. However, if you like exclusive and trendy things, this is for you! It's only available in a few salons throughout the US.

OPI Axxium Gel Lacquer

OPI Axxium Gel Lacquer stands up better to wear and tear and is completely smooth. The system is easy to apply right at home, but the system is not without it's own pitfalls. First, it's three layers that are applied to the nail, which means removal time is about 30 minutes. Plus if you are thinking of doing your own gel nails, you will need a UV light to set all three layers. Prices for application at a nail salon ranges from $35-45, but I have seen it available for as low as $30. It will more than likely be available at just about every nail salon sooner or later. Minx nails is more exclusive, as it requires special training.

You decide: which system NAILS it?!?
